Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
My name is Miriam Zavala and I'm one of the school counselors at Emerson Middle School. I support students last names from M-Z but I am also available to ALL students. This is my 8th year at Emerson Middle School and I love it!
I have a Master's Degree in Counseling & Guidance from Cal State San Bernardino and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Cal Poly Pomona. I graduated from Corona High School. Go Panthers! In high school I ran track and field, cross country, and was on the dance team.
In my spare time, I like to be with my family, husband and friends. I like to travel, stay active, and read.
I knew I wanted to be a school counselor since I was in high school. Everyday I am living my dream. It is an honor to have the opportunity to work with the students, families, and staff at Emerson Middle School.

I am very excited to get to know everyone! My name is Erica Castellanos and I am the new school counselor here at Emerson Middle School. I will be supporting students with the last names A-L, but am able to support ALL students. I am very excited to be here and working with each and every one of you!
I have a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling from University of La Verne. I am Pomona born and raised and graduated from Village Academy High School. I feel grateful to be able to support my community.
During my free time I like to hang out with friends/family, go on walks, and just relax.
