Emerson Middle School Counseling Program Mission

The mission of the Emerson Middle School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program to address each students’ academic, socio-emotional, and college and career needs. This is accomplished through the partnership with parents/guardians, staff, and community members to prepare our students to be successful productive citizens and long-life learners. We advocate for equity, access, and success for every student through a multi-tier multi-domains systems approach that includes but is not limited to in-class instruction, small groups, individual counseling, and school-wide activities. The school counseling program empowers all students to reach their maximum potential using data-driven practices that ensure the mastery of the ASCA Mindset & Behavior standards. We address and advocate for students’ needs to successfully compete and be prepared for the challenges of high school and beyond.
